I photograph dogs the way you actually know them: expressive, dramatic, soulful, chaotic, perfect.
Based in Atlanta, I create polished studio and lifestyle portraits without sanding off all the personality that made you obsessed with them in the first place.
How It Started
I wanted the kind of dog photos I wasn’t seeing enough of.
Not just a technically beautiful portrait of a dog sitting nicely.
I wanted the goofy grin. The head tilt. The expression when they catch a treat or a ball. The drama. The weird little quirks. All the things you recognize instantly because you’ve looked at that face approximately 40,000 times.
That’s the kind of photography I became obsessed with creating.
And eventually, that obsession became phoDOGrapher ATL.
The Original Muse
Meet Goose.
My dog, reluctant employee, frequent lighting-test subject, and the reason I know firsthand that “sit, stay, and look at the camera” is not always a particularly useful strategy.
Living with him has made me a better photographer—not because he’s an effortless model, but because he isn’t.
He reminds me constantly that dogs have their own comfort levels, motivations, moods, attention spans, and opinions.
And honestly? Those are usually the moments that make the best pictures.
How I Work
Your dog doesn't need to know what they're doing.
That's my job.
Sessions are flexible, patient, treat-heavy, and built around the dog in front of me. We’ll give them time to settle in, figure out what gets their attention, and work with their personality instead of constantly trying to correct it.
Some dogs give me perfect eye contact.
Some give me six seconds of chaos and one spectacular frame.
I love both.

Every final portrait is individually edited and retouched by me, with the same attention given to expression, color, detail, and finish that went into creating it.
The goal is work that feels authentic enough to be your dog and polished enough to live on your walls for years.
Beyond the Studio
A lot of my life with dogs happens off camera, too.
I volunteer with the Atlanta Humane Society and have fostered dogs of my own, which means I’ve spent a lot of time around dogs with different histories, temperaments, comfort levels, and needs.
That experience shapes how I photograph them, too. I pay attention to body language, give dogs space when they need it, and never expect every dog to respond the same way.
For me, working with dogs has never just been about getting the photo.
